PHENOMENON MAGAZINE
The objective of this project was to design a publication that explores atmosphere and scale through image sequencing and typographic restraint. The goal was to create a reading experience that feels immersive yet controlled, allowing visual weight and pacing to guide the viewer through each spread. Rather than overwhelming the composition, the design needed to emphasize clarity, proportion, and hierarchy.
I approached this project through contrast and spatial awareness. Large-scale imagery was balanced with generous margins and deliberate text placement to create tension between density and stillness. Typography was treated as a structural element rather than decoration, reinforcing rhythm and guiding the eye without competing with the visuals. Black and white photography established mood and cohesion, while controlled asymmetry introduced movement across spreads. Careful attention was given to pacing, ensuring that moments of visual intensity were followed by quieter pages. Every design decision was made with intention, allowing structure and restraint to shape the overall narrative.
