CHAPBOOK

The objective of this project was to design a typographically driven chapbook that interprets narrative through contrast, hierarchy, and emotional intensity. The challenge was to balance bold, high-impact typography with moments of restraint, allowing the pacing of the content to guide the reader through shifts in tone. The design needed to create tension without overwhelming the narrative, emphasizing clarity and structure while maintaining visual force.

I approached this project through scale, contrast, and controlled disruption. Large typographic statements were used to establish impact, while smaller text blocks provided moments of pause. A limited palette of black, white, and yellow reinforced hierarchy and directed attention. Typography became both structure and voice, alternating between forceful declarations and quieter passages. Each spread was composed to create rhythm with dense moments followed by space allowing the narrative to unfold with measured intensity.
